Are there any additional fees?
As with every divorce filed in the UK, you will need to pay an additional court fee of £593 when your divorce application is filed. If you receive benefits, it is possible to receive help paying this fee. If you do not know where your spouse currently lives, it is likely that you will need additional services to progress your divorce; incurring additional costs.
Can I file for divorce myself?
You can absolutely file your own divorce application. Divorces are legal proceedings however, and some people like to have legal certainty when handling their divorce to ensure that they are doing everything correctly.
